Synopsis:

Columbus Day will start off grey as a weak area of low pressure continues to move East into the Atlantic. Enough dry air should work in this afternoon for the sun to make an appearance.

The rest of the week will be a bright and becoming increasingly warm. High pressure will dominate the East coast. Temperatures will be well above the average high of the mid to upper 60s. Some fine Fall conditions are on the way.

Synopsis:

Today will be cloudy with scattered showers. I’m still thinking there will be more dry times than wet times. As the weakening low moves up and off the coast, Eastern Long Island has the best chance of a steadier rain for a few hours later today. It will be breezy and cool. The average high is 67º, We’ll be just below that number.

On Columbus Day Monday enough dry air should work in for morning clouds to burn off during the afternoon. The sun should make an appearance.

Tuesday through Thursday will be a brighter days as another area of high pressure develops to our West. Temperatures will be several degrees above average.

A grey, cool and sometimes damp weekend is anticipated as high pressure slips off the Maine coast and weak low pressure moves moves North from the coastal Carolinas. Temperatures both days will be near the average high of 67º.

Today will be the better half of the weekend. More clouds than sun is expected it will be breezy and much cooler. An isolated shower is possible, but the day will be mainly dry.
