Windy/Rainy Saturday Morning. Conditions Improve This Afternoon…

Synopsis:

A Nor’easter will affect the area today. The storm will move due North and hug the coast from the Virginia tide water on this morning morning to the NYC area by this evening. Periods of rain will be heavy at time this morning, especially from the NYC area and to the North and East. Winds could gusts to 40-60mph, at the coast. High Wind Warnings and advisories have been posted. Winds won’t as strong inland. Up to two inches of rain is likely. The heaviest amounts will be North and East of the City with lighter amounts elsewhere. A Coastal Flood Warning is in effect. Tidal flooding is likely and the rise in water may reach one to three feet above normal. The storm will slowly wind down during the afternoon. The rain will become lighter and the wind will abate some.

Sunday will be the better half of the weekend with a mix of sun and clouds. We’ll be between systems.

Another area of low pressure will develop on a second round of energy working in with the jet stream. At this time it looks weak so a period of rain or scattered showers is possible.

High pressure will move in by midweek. Tranquil mild conditions are likely for Halloween.
