Nor’Easter Arrives Late Tonight. Stormy Saturday Morning…

Synopsis:

A Nor’easter will affect the area late tonight and Saturday. The storm will move due North and hug the coast from the Virginia tide water on Saturday morning morning to the NYC area by Saturday evening. A period of heavy rain is likely to develop late tonight and continue through Saturday morning. Winds could gusts to 40-60mph, at the coast. High Wind Warnings and advisories have been posted. Winds won’t as strong inland. One to three inches of rain is likely (map above) and a Flash Flood Watch is in effect for the Eastern half of the area.  The heaviest rain will fall closer to the coast. A Coastal Flood Warning has been posted for Saturday. Tidal flooding is likely and the rise in water may reach one to three feet above normal. The storm will slowly wind down during the afternoon. The rain will become lighter and the wind will abate some.

Sunday will be the better half of the weekend with a mix of sun and clouds. We’ll be between systems.

Another area of low pressure will develop on a second round of energy working in with the jet stream. At this time it looks weak so a period of rain or scattered showers is possible.

High pressure will move in by midweek. Tranquil mild conditions are likely for Halloween.
