Day 5 of Heat Wave…

Synopsis:

The oppressive heat and humidity is over as the heat dome has moved east. Today will still be hot. It’ll be day 5 of the heat wave for Central Park as it should hit 90º. What will be noticeable is the lower humidity.

The heat wave should end tomorrow as temperatures are expected to be just shy of 90º.  I’ll be more humid with scattered showers and storms during the afternoon.  A drier airmass will work in from the North and West for the mid and later portion of the week.  This will result in warm but less humid conditions into Friday- a welcome relief.

Today:

Partly sunny, hot and not as humid as recent days. Highs around 90º. North wind becoming South 5-10mph.

Tonight:

Partly cloudy and warm.  Becoming muggy by morning.  Lows in the mid 70s in the City and urban corridor, 65º-70º inland.  Light and variable wind.

Tuesday:

Hazy, very warm and humid with scattered afternoon thunderstorms.  Highs in the upper 80s.

Wednesday:

Partly sunny with lowering humidity.  Highs in the upper 80s.

Thursday:

Partly sunny. Highs in the upper 80s.

Friday:

Partly sunny with readings in the upper 80s.

Stay Tuned.
