Synopsis:
Sunny and breezy conditions are expected for today as a cold front swings through in the morning. Winds will add a bit of a bite.
Wednesday will feature sunshine giving way to high clouds during the afternoon as high pressure slips off the Northeast coast. Readings will be near the seasonal averages of the mid and upper 30s.
Low pressure will move from the Ohio Valley will trek into our region Wednesday night and Thursday. It looks to be cold enough for a mix of snow and sleet and the onset Wednesday night. A minor accumulation is possible by morning. The frozen precipitation will go over to rain for most areas Thursday. Freezing rain is possible inland into Thursday morning. Hazardous travel is possible where this occurs. All readings on Thursday afternoon will pop into 40s as mild air works in behind the departing low. Rain will taper off by early afternoon.
The sun will return on Friday as high pressure influences the region.
On Saturday, another low will move toward the region from Ohio Valley. The potential exists for a mixed bag of precipitation Saturday afternoon and night.
One thing is for sure we are going into an active weather period the next ten days.
Stay tuned.
