Synopsis:
Wednesday will feature sunshine giving way to high clouds during the afternoon as high pressure slips off the Northeast coast. Readings will be near the seasonal averages of the mid and upper 30s.
Low pressure will move from the Ohio Valley will trek into our region Wednesday night and Thursday. It looks to be cold enough for a mix of snow and sleet and the onset late Wednesday night. A minor accumulation is possible during the morning hours on Thursday. It’s not a lot of snow, but the sleet and spotty freezing rain that will fall will add to hazardous travel. The frozen precipitation will go over to rain for Thursday during the later morning and midday hours. Readings will pop above freezing first at the coast during the morning, then inland by midday.
The sun will return on Friday as high pressure influences the region.
On Saturday, another low will move toward the region from Ohio Valley. The potential exists for a mixed bag of precipitation Saturday afternoon and night. This system has the looks of the current one heading our way for Thursday.
Skies should clear Sunday with readings several degrees above the average high of the upper 30s.
One thing is for sure we are going into an active weather period the next ten days.
Stay tuned.
