Break in the Rain. Round 2 Arrives Mid-Afternoon…

Synopsis:

The morning commute will be wet for most areas. The steadiest rain has moved North and East of the region. There will still be pockets of freezing rain well inland for a time. The rain will taper off during the morning and much of the midday and early afternoon hours should be dry. The 2nd round of rain will arrive mid to late afternoon as a large area of rain works up the coast.

An intensifying storm will move from West of Washington DC tonight and into Southern NY State by Friday morning. This will bring a round of heavy rain to most of the region. This is also a warm storm track. A break in the rain is likely by mid-morning Friday. As the low moves into Southern New England another round of showers is likely on the backside of the storm and with the passage of a cold front. Readings will start off mild on Friday but temperatures will fall during the afternoon as the sun makes an appearance from time to time.

The weekend looks decent for February standards. Saturday will be tranquil and cool under a mix of sun and clouds. A weak area of low pressure will move South of the region Saturday night and Sunday morning. At this time it doesn’t look like a big deal. Flurries are in the forecast Sunday morning, otherwise skies will be partly sunny.

Stay Tuned.

Keep it here for a no nonsense, no hype forecast.
