Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Entire Area Until 9PM…

Synopsis:

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 9PM the entire area. Keep an eye to the sky for threatening weather. Severe thunderstorms contain one of the following criteria: winds in excess of 58mph and or one inch hail. Torrential rain and frequent cloud to ground lightning will accompany the storms. A disturbance will work in from the West later today and this evening sparking the scattered thunderstorms. Any storms will end later this evening and skies will remain mostly cloudy. It will be muggy and warm overnight.

The Bermuda high will remained anchored off the US coast through tomorrow. This system will be responsible for the heat and humidity. Please take it slow outdoors and drink plenty of fluids.

Thursday will be the last day of the hot and humid conditions. A cool front is expected to move through Thursday night. Temperatures will once again be near 90º. Spotty storms are possible later in the day and during the evening as the front approaches.

Relief will arrive by Friday and the weekend looks spectacular as Canadian high pressure moves in. Highs may only stay in the upper 70s!

Stay cool!
