Synopsis:

More Fall-like readings are expected for today as a Canadian airmass says hello. An Autumn chill will settle in through the end of the week as high pressure dominates. The sun will rule the sky. Readings will be below the average high of the upper 60s to around 70º.

Hurricane Milton is a category 4 hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico. The tempest will track toward the Western Florida coast by Wednesday night. Many of the computer models have the Milton weakening some just before landfall, but it will still be a powerful storm. Residents need to prepare now.

A weak cool front pushed through early this morning. Eastern areas will see a scattered leftover shower until about 8am, otherwise, skies throughout will become mostly sunny. It’ll be mild with readings above the average high of around 70º by a couple of degrees. A nice start to the workweek for sure.

Finally, by Monday enough dry air will work in from the Northeast to allow morning clouds to give way to some afternoon sun.

The remnant low will move to our South on Tuesday. An isolated shower is possible, otherwise skies will be mostly cloudy.

High pressure over Southeastern Canada along with the remnants of Helene over the Tennessee Valley will affect our weather into the weekend. It will be a battle between the dry air from the high pressure and moisture from Helene. Scattered showers are in the forecast thorough the weekend. There will be more dry times than wet. It’s not a washout whatsoever. If we’re lucky will get a push of drier air from the North later Sunday and Monday for some sun. Temperatures will be near average or slightly below average.
