Cool Down Thursday…

 

Synopsis:

A cool front passed the area this morning bringing with it a cool down in temperatures. Our Summer feel is no longer. The average high is in the lower to mid 60s. Today’s readings will be a few degrees above that under abundant sunshine.

It’ll be a cooler, bright end to the week as high pressure moves in from the Northwest.

The weekend looks decent with pleasant readings under a mix of sun and clouds. Sunday will be the cooler of the two days.

Our stretch with no rain for the month of October continues. There is no rain in the foreseeable future and these drought conditions will only worsen. Conserve water and please use caution outdoors with flammables.

Synopsis:

Today will still be warm with plenty of sunshine. A cool front will come through moisture starved tonight- meaning no rain. Thursday will be more seasonable. The average high is in the lower to mid 60s..

Another Summer-like Day Tuesday…

 

Synopsis:

High pressure along with a bubble of warm air will translate into a Summer-like feel through today. Readings will be 80º or above once again. Newark at least tied their  record of 84º on Monday. The record high for today for Central Park is 88º set in 1979. Newark is 86º in the same year. Abundant sunshine is expected.

Wednesday will still be warm ahead of a cool front with plenty of sunshine. The front will come through moisture starved Wednesday night. Thursday will be more seasonable with readings in the lower 60s. It’ll be a cool, bright end to the week as high pressure moves in from the Northwest.

Cold high pressure will settle over the Appalachians today. The result will be a bright, breezy and chilly Wednesday. Readings will be ten degrees below the average high of the mid 60s. The breeze will add a  nip in the air.

Freeze Warnings have been posted for our Northwestern counties for Wednesday night. Time to bring in any tender plants.

The coldest air of the season so far will make a visit to our area the next two days. Cold high pressure originating in central Canada will move to the Eastern states this week. It was a frosty start for many this morning. A gusty wind and nip in the air with readings around ten degrees below the average high of the mid and upper 60s.

Readings will recover to seasonable levels by Friday as the cold high modifies and becomes a mild weather maker by the weekend.
