Today-Last Day of Heat. Most Oppressive. PM Storms…

Synopsis:

The heat wave will continue into today as a strong Bermuda continues to influence our area. It’ll be the most oppressive day of the current hot spell because of the higher humidity. A Heat Advisory is in effect for Mercer, Hudson, Eastern Essex and Eastern Union Counties until 10PM Tuesday. The combination of the high temperatures and humidity will make it feel like the upper 90s. Record highs maybe in jeopardy. The record for Central Park for today is 96º set back in 1961.  The forecast is 95º.

A backdoor cold front will work through tonight. A spot storm is possible later this afternoon and evening. Relief from the heat will come on Wednesday. Temperatures will be near average and then fall below average with plenty sun Thursday.

A shower threat will be upon us Friday and into Saturday. At this time it doesn’t look like a washout.

Stay tuned.
