Toasty Tuesday. Sct’d Late Storms…

Synopsis:

The remnants of Tropical Storm Chantal will move off the NJ coast through today. At the same time a weak front will be to our Northwest. A mix of sun and clouds is expected for today. It’ll be hot and humid. The heat index will top 100º in many areas. The weak front to the North and West will produce scattered late day and evening storms. Some of the storms may produce torrential rain and vivid lightning. A Flood Watch is up for the entire area into tonight. Local rain amounts may exceed a few inches causing flooding of highways and streets. Never drive through flooded roadways. TURN AROUND, DON’T DROWN. Showers and storms will taper off overnight.

Wednesday we’ll have a break in the action with bright and very warm conditions expected.

Weak low pressure will move into the region later Thursday with the threat of showers. It won’t be as warm.

Drier air will work into the region on Friday and Saturday. A mix of sun and clouds expected along with seasonable temperatures.

Stay tuned.
