On & Off Rain. Early Aftn. Downpours…

Synopsis:

On and off rain is likely Sunday as the low moves into the Northeast. Rain could be heavy at times from midday to mid-afternoon (map above). It’ll be milder with readings reaching the mid and upper 40s to lower to mid 50s to the South. Winds will increase out of the South and then West during the afternoon. A High Wind Warning and Wind Advisories are up for the entire area for later this afternoon into Monday. Gusts between 40mph and 60mph are possible.

The cold blast will arrive tonight behind the departing storm. All readings will fall below freezing with a biting wind.

Much colder conditions are expected for Presidents’ Day through midweek as a dominant Northwest flow from Canada takes hold. At least the sun will be shining.

Many of the computer models have low pressure somewhere along or off the East coast on Thursday 2/20. The potential is there for some snow. The latest computer models have the storm too far offshore for this to be the big one. The track, like always, is critical. Nothing is etched in stone at this time.

Stay tuned.
