Snow for Most Areas Overnight…

Synopsis:

Snow will develop between 6-9pm and continue into late tonight. To the North little in the way of snow is expected. The potential is there for accumulating snow, mainly to the South where the steadiest and heaviest snow looks likely. This region is the jackpot zone (map above).

Early morning light snow is possible Wednesday along the coast and to the South, otherwise remaining cloudy. A few flurries can’t be ruled out during the day.

A potent system will work up the Appalachians Wednesday night and Thursday morning. Light snow or a mix will develop Wednesday evening . The mix will quickly change to rain at the coast Wednesday night. Inland the mix will continue. Some accumulation is possible before the changeover North and West. Thursday morning rain will taper off. If we’re lucky we’ll get to see some sun later in the day. Readings for a change will be above average.

The week will end bright and chilly for Valentine’s Day as high pressure works in.

The next low will move toward the East coast later Saturday. Clouds will thicken and a mix of snow, sleet and rain is possible during the afternoon. Rain is likely Saturday night and Sunday as the low moves into the Northeast. It’ll be milder on Sunday with readings approaching 50º.

Stay tuned.
