Clouds to Sun. Breezy…

Synopsis:

Morning clouds will give way to mostly sunny skies. It will be breezy for Super Bowl Sunday. Readings will be seasonal in the upper 30s to around 40º.

A refreeze of any slush or standing water will occur tonight. Please use caution.

It’ll be a tranquil start to the week with high pressure building over our area.

Tuesday will feature another low moving up from the South. Any sun will give way to increasing clouds. The latest computer guidance suggests a little nudge to the North with the precipitation field associated with the low. Light snow is possible during the afternoon, especially South of the City. Some accumulating snow is possible Tuesday night, again mainly to the South of the City. This is not to say a minor accumulation can occur in the NYC vicinity.

Early morning snow is possible Wednesday morning, otherwise a mix of clouds and some sun is expected.

A more potent system will work up the Appalachians Wednesday night and Thursday morning. The track at this time doesn’t look conducive for significant snow. Snow or a mix is possible Wednesday night. Thursday morning rain will taper off. Sunshine will increase during the day with above average temperatures.

Stay tuned.
