Cloudy Friday. Scattered Rain/Snow Showers…

Synopsis:.

Friday will be chilly as cold air moves in from Canada. A weakening Alberta clipper will move over the Northeast as an ocean low pressure moves up and off the coast. This may result in areas of rain and snow showers during the afternoon.

Snow showers are possible tonight. If a trough develops over the area it may enhance the precipitation field resulting in possibly a coating to 3″ in spots. The higher amounts will be over the higher elevations. This is a low to moderate potential at this time with the best chance being West and South of the City.

Saturday will feature the ocean storm moving well off the coast with morning snow showers or flurries ending. The departing storm in combination with strong high pressure to the Northwest will result in a gusty wind. Temperatures will be well below average under a mix of sun and clouds.

Sunday will be frigid. Highs will remain in the 20s with bitter wind chills. At least the sun will shine. Sunday night will be the coldest night of the season so far.

Monday be bright and cold with highs remaining at or just below freezing.

Christmas Eve morning may have some flakes flying as a weak disturbance rapidly moves in from the West. Skies will be come partly sunny by afternoon.

Stay tuned.
