Rain/Wet Snow North & West. Rain Elsewhere…

Synopsis:.

Areas of rain and wet snow will continue today. The potential for accumulating snow exists for the higher elevations of Northwestern areas (map above). As you can see several inches are possible above 900ft. Areas closer to the urban corridor may see the flakes fly from time to time but no accumulation is expected. The storm will do a loop-de-loop over NJ and then move out to see Friday night.

We have received beneficial rain from this storm. When all is said and done between 1″-3″ of rain is expected (some of that amount will be melted snow North and West). The outdoor fire restrictions have been lifted for NJ. The drought warning continues. This event did not break the drought, but every bit helps.

The coldest airmass of the season so far will move into the area Friday with readings remaining in the 30s to lower 40s.

The weekend will be windy and chilly with sun and clouds.

Monday and Tuesday will be pleasant with seasonable temperatures.

Stay tuned.
