Not as Hot Tuesday. PM Showers/Storms. Heavy Late…

Synopsis:

The next several days will be unsettled to say the least. A frontal boundary will be draped across the region. This will be the focus mechanism for showers and thunderstorms to develop this afternoon and continue into Wednesday morning. There is a moderate risk of excessive rainfall for the NYC vicinity with the rest of the region in a slight risk. A Flood Watch is up for the entire tri-state area for the same timeframe.

Today will start off partly sunny. It will be not as hot. Scattered showers and storms will develop during the mid-afternoon and become more numerous into the evening. Some of the rain will be torrential. There is the potential for one to three inches of rain. If you encounter a road covered with water- TURN AROUND, DON’T DROWN.

The rain and storms will become more scattered Wednesday. It will be cooler with the wind out of the Northeast and mainly cloudy skies. Thursday should feature sun and clouds with possible showers.

Now to Tropical Storm Debby. The storm is in Southeastern GA. It will meander over the Southeast until a trough picks up the system and moves it up the coast. It’s affects on our area look to be in the timeframe of Friday afternoon through midday Saturday. This is subject to change. Rain is possible from the remnants of Debby. Where that axis of heavy rain develops is the question. We are not expecting high winds.

Stay tuned.

Keep it here for a no nonsense, no hype forecast.
