Synopsis:
Extensive high pressure both at the surface and aloft will dominate our area through the week. A heat wave is on the way for many (readings of 90º or higher). Areas closer to the coast have not experienced 90º readings as of yet. So, its a bit of a relief in these areas.
The first heat wave is the most taxing on the body. Please drink plenty of fluids and stay out of the direct sun, if possible.
Spotty storms are possible Friday afternoon with a weak disturbance moving in.
The weekend will be very warm to hot, depending on location. Hazy sun is expected. Scattered afternoon storms are possible Sunday with an approaching cool front. This front may break the backbone of the sultry conditions.
Stay tuned.
