Morning Rain Mainly City & North. Some PM Sun…

Synopsis:

A weak ripple of low pressure will ride along a dying front this morning. A period of light rain is likely in and around the NYC vicinity and to the North through the morning. Southern areas should remain mainly dry. The sun will make an appearance by afternoon.

Clouds will thicken again tonight and light rain will develop from South to North late.

Tropical system Zeta will make landfall over the Northern Gulf coast states of either Louisiana or Mississippi by this evening. The remnants will move up the Piedmont and result in a rainy day on Thursday. A vigorous upper level trough will create a second low pressure system for Friday this low will develop off the Mid-Atlantic coast and move Northeast. This will enhance and continue the rain and increasing wind for the first half of the day. The upper level trough may be cold enough to support a mix of wet snow North and West on Friday. No accumulation is expected. The sun may return later in afternoon.

On Halloween (which is Saturday), strong cold high pressure will move into the region from Canada. Abundant sunshine is expected with readings most likely not getting out of the 40s. Definitely a nip in the air for trick or treaters. At least it will be dry.

Sunday will be partly sunny and more seasonal.

Stay Tuned.
